where to buy the HP TouchPad at fire sale prices
Since HP decided to terminate the line of HP TouchPad tablets some 48 days after launch, the company has reduced the price of these WebOS tablets from around £479 to £120 for the 32GB version and £379 to £99 for the 16GB Version.
WebOS is good , if all you want to dois surf the web (with flash), get emails and watch movies , this is an absolute bargain. Support will probably dry up, but at these prices, yu’re getting top end hardware for the price of a Chinese knock off.
Consider also, that there is an effort to get Android 2.3 and Honeycomb on it and the hardware looks like a deal too good to miss.
Where can you get them.
Misco have announced that they will slash the price imminently (www.misco.ie)
Elara have announced on their web site that they will start the sale at 6pm BST today (www.elara.ie)
Amazon.co.uk have steadily lowered the price all day from £479 – £349 – £279 for the 32GB model
Laptops Direct are about to announce a drop to the fire sale prices No ETA as yet (laptopsdirect.co.uk)
Dabs sold out this morning www.dabs.com and are not accepting any more orders. They are expecting a shipment of another 500 units but I suspect that they are are already sold.
Dixons online sold out last night and the few PC World stores that had them sold out this morning. I have my contact in PC World finding out if HP will replenish stocks shortly.
HP has announced that they will shift the stock remaining in the warehouses to distribution so expect another round of sales in the next few days. They intend to dump most of the stock through Bestbuy in the US and various dealers in Europe.
If you’re keen on one of these devices, I’d monitor Misco all day and get ready at 6pm on Elara.
